May / June 2024

Kia ora and greetings,

We are fast  approaching the solstice—in Aotearoa New Zealand the shortest and darkest days, and the longest and sunniest days in the Northern Hemisphere.
The last few days have certainly been dark for Titipounamu Study & Joy as we had to farewell our dear friend and colleague Br Kieran Fenn whose health suddenly deteriorated and who then passed away on 25 May 2024. We are mourning the great loss but we are also very grateful for having been able to learn and be inspired by his teachings and his joyful and deeply faithful personality.

Only one week ago, when Br Kieran said that he wanted to be present at our next session on “Bible Stories—what do they mean?”, I promised that it would carry on even if he might only join us in spirit.
This opportunity to discuss and reflect on Bible Stories and look for the meaning of these stories on the first Sunday of the month is open to anybody who is interested in it. You will receive the Zoom link at registration.

In our last newsletter, we announced further information on the carvings depicted in our booklets on the Stations of the Cross with a special focus on hands. An article about it is available on our website at

Recent interviews on YouTube include: De Paul House (Jan Rutledge) and a collection of interview snippets prepared as a Tribute to Kieran Fenn fms. If you want to make sure not to miss any news from us, please check our webfeed or subscribe to our YouTube channel (just click on the Subscribe button on the videos) or follow us on Facebook.
